The Golden Globes Goes Black

The Golden Globes Goes Black

A week prior to the  75th edition of the Golden Globes, hundreds of females in the film industry including actresses, directors, producers and agents signed up to the Time’s Up Campaign for gender equality in the workplace, in the aftermath of the numerous sexual assault allegations in the past months.  And while some of the big stars such as Meryl Streep, Emma Watson and Natalie Portman were accompanied by female rights activists, most stars chose to wear black.
We picked the best black red carpet looks and there were plenty. While that proves that black is always a safe option, there still were a few mishits. Surprisingly from some of our favorite red carpet stars.
Here the arrivals of the Best & Worst of the Golden Globes 2018.

OUR BEST DRESSED LIST…

Jessica Biel in Dior Haute Couture.

Jessica Chastain in Armani Prive.

Kendall Jenner in Giambattista Valli.

Saoirse Roanan in Versace.

Viola Davis in Brandon Maxwell.

Zoe Kravitz in Saint Laurent.

& THOSE WHO DISAPPOINTED US…

Christina Hendricks in Christian Siriano. That pants/skirt is beautiful but needs a much taller  person.

Debra Messing in Christian Siriano. The sidepanels of the top just added volume at the wrong places.

Kate Hudson in Valentino. A lining in the skirt would have made all the difference.

Laurie Metcalf in Sachin and Babi. The coat simply looks out of proportion.

Maggie Gyllenhaal in Monse. The unproportioned top adds volume where not needed.

Salma Hayek in Balenciaga. If the hair would have been in a up-do, that high collar dress would have worked beautifully.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Dolce and Gabbana. Not what we’d expect from SJP.
