Azzedine Alaïa pays tribute to Salvatore Ferragamo

Last week, Azzedine Alaïa has returned to the Parisian Haute Couture defilées after an absence of six years. During his show opened by his long-time muse Naomi Campbell, Alaïa paid tribute to the Italian shoe-maker Salvatore Ferragamo. Ferragamo’s most iconic piece, the famous “Indiana” pump boot, was paired with Alaïa’s latest creations.

“I have always been a longtime admirer of Salvatore Ferragamo and his work, constantly ahead of his time and inspiration to all. I thank the Ferragamo family for this collaboration together.” – Azzedine Alaïa

The iconic Indiana boot was a favourite of the 1920 Hollywood megastars and pushed Ferragamo into the luxury footwear segment.
