THE GOOD & THE ODD FROM LONDON FASHION WEEK

THE GOOD & THE ODD FROM LONDON FASHION WEEK

As the fashion month has departed New York in favor to Europe, London fashion week has just come to an end with brands like Victoria Beckham, JW Anderson or Burberry on the runway. From BDSM ball gowns to big romantic dresses,  polka dots, plaid, stripes and winter floral were the fashion flock of this season.

Adding volume  JW Anderson opened his show with a satin dress with metallic puff sleeves and some cape-back silk dresses followed with structured coats.  Richard Malone’s  collaboration with the Woolmark Company allowed him in refining the innovative textiles his label is known for. Victoria Beckham lifted the midi hemline that she refused to change for six seasons to the knee and added knee boots to fill the gap.  Freedom and youth culture were behind the designs by Paulo Almeida and Marta Marques delivering standout pieces inspired by the 90s and 70s with the coming season’s big trends of furry over-sized coats and platform boots. As for Burberry the collection combined signature Burberry pieces, trench coats, duffle coats and animal prints. Simone Rocha‘s collection referenced the silhouette of birthing smocks and baptism cloths dripping in lace… Great to some, odd for other, but inspiring for all!
